Creating Snapshots for Backup

I'm confused on some basic functions. I create an "AWSCreateSnapshotJob" for a server that has one EBS volume. The job log shows it first created a snapshot, then copied the snapshot, so now I have two. Why two?

If you select a region in the "Copy to region" combo box AutomatiCloud will copy your snaptshot to another region. If you don't want this select "(no copy)".
