MySQL on Linux

I know you have introduced VSS which is great. I was just wondering if you have an solutions for backing up a live Linux server that is running MySQL. Also, Is it possible to pause the instance and take a snapshot?

You can use the "run script before" and "run script after" options of the "Backup EC2" job to create consistent snapshots. I'm no MySQL expert but this seems to be possible:
