I'm testing the application and I'm inquiring about the following features:
- Add AWS account Column in the main window to easier separate jobs
- Ability to create backup report per AWS account
- Ability to backup all volumes instead of creating jobs per single instance
- Customized backup retention policy(more than 30days,months) and the option to keep one snapshot per period during cleanup
- Overview of all snapshots in an AWS account. Ability to clean up snapshots
Suggestion to add features
Re: Suggestion to add features
I would like a "Stop Instance for Snapshot" option in the Create Volume Snapshot action.
If enabled it would stop the instance associated with the volume, start the snapshot, and then restart the instance.
"You can take a snapshot of an attached volume that is in use. However, snapshots only capture data that has been written to your EBS volume at the time the snapshot command is issued; this may exclude any data that has been cached by any applications or the operating system."
http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/lates ... pshot.html
Thanks

Re: Suggestion to add features
Version 3.1 is out now and I have included two of your requests:
- see the settings for job in main window
- list snapshots created by backup job

Re: Suggestion to add features
suggestion - consolidated email
Like the software, but the number of emails can be an issue.
I have a single job, snapping 8 volumes for an environment using tags. I get 8 individual emails. Just wondering if there wasn't a way to gather the results of the 8 snaps, and put them into a single email. Meaning one job, one email.

Re: Suggestion to add features
Again - another email related one
Let us customize the subject header
Currently - looks like "AutomitiCloud Notification (job name) - success/failure"
Would like to change the line - make it "Backup notification" or "Instance Start Notification", etc.
Is this in a config file we can change already?

Re: Suggestion to add features
there is no option to change this text. I will put this on the wishlist.

Re: Suggestion to add features
I would like to see "Copy to region" added to the new "Create AMI" job.
Re: Suggestion to add features
I think that would make a good addition too.dgreen wrote:I would like to see "Copy to region" added to the new "Create AMI" job.
Re: Suggestion to add features
On the Backup Jobs and Snapshot screen it would be good to allow a manual overtype/setting of the Snapshot Retention days. The drop down just allows you to select 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,10,15,30 days only. We have a requirement to keep up to 120 days of snapshots.
Same goes for backups.
Thanks
Steve

Re: Suggestion to add features
Branding changes
We would like to change the AutomatiCloud branding from the email notifications, and the AWS Snapshot description from "AutomatiCloud Snapshot" to "[Brand] snapshot"
Thanks
